This June NASA will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the first moon landing, and what better way for the watch company Omega than to highlight their involvement than through a marketing campaign.
Many watch companies typically market themselves through the use of celebrities as ambassadors for their brands, while this method seems to clearly work, a big part of what makes the big watch companies so sought after is due to their historical significance and presence. But few watch brands can match the scale of Omega, being the first watch worn on the moon and the official watch brand of NASA. So why not make use of this by creating an advertisement not from association with people, but something that everyone can see?
I created this poster with the goal to create an association of the moon with the Omega Speedmaster watch model that were used by the astronauts of the moon landing. Through this association I believe that you have the potential of that when people see the moon and think of this event, they also think of the Omega brand and associate the watch brand with this incredible human feat, and perhaps they even think that they would want to get a piece of that history of their own.
